Each monthly competition is judged by a panel of three volunteers from our membership. We prefer to have two A class judges and one B class judge but three A class judges will work in a pinch.

Judging is important not only because our competitions won't work without judges but also because the process of judging is very educational. By going through the work of other club members and thinking critically about the photos to arrive at a score and comments, you gain new insights into photography that you can apply to your own photos.

If you are interested in being a judge, you can volunteer at any of the meetings or contact the judging chair privately. If you aren't sure, you can sit in on a judging to see how it all goes before jumping in your first time.
