Judges' comments:
Very busy background competes with the people; fill flash would do the job on the shadows
Maker's notes:

Street photography....what do you see? Obviously great poverty (may have been street kids), yet still able to act like the kids their ages. It is hard to "compose" this photo. When I, the photographer, saw them they were running from a shopkeeper and when I chased them they thought I as also after them for their crime. I was able to catch them after a block by waving a rupee note. Using sign language I got the message across that I wanted a photo. They were very uncertain and skittish and hard to get them to stand together. When I made some faces, they enjoyed that, they joined in more willingly. That made it possible to get this emotional shot.

The background is too busy but it does tell the viewer where you are. This is a real event and not composed beyond getting them together.
