President's Corner - May, 2009

At our Tuesday Meeting we elected officers for next year. President-Owen Johnson, VP-Terry Zalewski, Secretary-Michelle Cox, Treasurer-John Zoerb, Judging Chair-Jerry Bonsack, N4C Contact-Jerry Bonsack, N4C Digital Coordinator-Peder Schoenfeld, Ground Glass Newsletter Editor-Dan Truax. Thanks to Dan for volunteering to resume our Ground Glass Newsletter. Due to time constraints at our 1st May meeting we deferred voting on competition categories to the May 26 meeting.
May 26 - The main program will be Dan Jackson talking about a favorite subject of his – birds and bird photography. The topic for the 6:30 session is Vacation and Travel Photography by John Zoerb.
The final May meeting is an opportunity to pay John for the Year-End Banquet if you haven’t done so. The $20 payment is due by the end of May. Our Year-end Banquet is Sunday, June 7 at the Shrine of Our Lady of Guadeloupe at 6:00. As stated above, pay John $20/person by 5/31.
Our summer field trip to Bob Hurt’s studio in Dakota is scheduled for Tuesday, July 14 at 7:00pm. Our annual picnic is scheduled (tentatively) for August 15. John Zoerb is checking shelter house availability and will book us into a park on 8/15 if possible.
If anyone has an idea for a photography field trip over the summer our May 26 meeting is the time to present it to our members. See you on the 26th and June 7.
