President's Corner - November, 2009
Myrick Hixon Ecopark as our meeting place is proving quite nice! Lot’s of room, a great screen, and a reasonably central location for members. We may have to use the smaller room occasionally, but it will still be larger than our old location at the church. And, use of the smaller room is free (compared to $20 for the large meeting room.) In the spring we will have lots of photo opportunities as the days get longer.
We will soon schedule our holiday party, traditionally held on an early Sunday in January. If desired we can have our party at Myrick Hixon for only $30-$40. One difference from the VFW where we have had the party for years is we would need to bring our own beverages.
The 6:30 educational topic at our December 8 meeting is Christmas photography. Perfect to get ready for the holidays. Bring your camera and tripod. After a brief meeting we will adjourn to go down to the Rotary Lights display at Riverside Park. If you bring some food items for the collection at the park it would be nice. There is no charge to enjoy the Christmas light display, but they ask for cash or foodstuff donations.
