First January meeting
  • Introductions
    Owen reported concern from Norskedalen that LACC members were not checking in at the visitors center, paying admission and visiting after hours which is not allowed. Tami from Norskedalen also felt our members had gone beyond the "lines" during the civil war re-enactment. John Zoerb reported that he witnessed individuals crossing barricades and getting in the way, but these were not LACC members. Owen will have further discussion with Norskedalen to correct any misunderstanding.
  • N4C competition - no results as Peder was not attending. (snow plowing)
  • Jerry Bonsack asked for volunteers to shoot Winter Rec Fest Activities.

  • Reminder we will have a photo gear swap/sale at La Crosse Floral on February 7 from 9am to 3pm.
  • Progressive Travel has asked to be a presenter at a meeting to promote a photographers cruise in Alaska. The promotional materials were made available to interested parties. Due to the cost of about $3900 each for double occupancy there was no interest expressed.
  • Report on planning for the 2010 N4C convention by Terry Zalewski. Next planning meeting is 6:30 on 2/17 at Owen's house. All members are welcome to come. Jerry Bonsack needs images on transportation modes coming into La Crosse and also interior shots from downtown restaurants for the promotional video. He asked for volunteers to help provide images.
  • Owen advised our website is the place to go for schedule information. The schedule is current. An important recent change is there is no pre-meeting at next meeting. On 1/27, people should go direct to UW-L at 7:00 to meet at the Wing Bldg., 1705 State St. in Room 124.
  • The program was the viewing of January competition results.
