Second November meeting
  • Introductions
  • N4C results – Only Dick Gagne placed
  • John gave the financial report.
  • Next convention meeting will be December 16th at 6:30 at Owen’s house.
  • Motion to transfer $200 of club funds to convention account (loan to be paid back after convention) – Carried.
  • Discussed upcoming schedule
  • The December 9th program will start at 6:30pm with viewing the images submitted for the convention DVD. Afterwards we will be heading out on a fieldtrip to photograph the rotary lights. Be sure to bring your camera, tripod, and warm clothes.
  • The Christmas party will be on January 11th starting at 6pm for drinks and 7pm for supper. It will be held at the VFW on 6th & Market. Park in the back and use the back entrance. Take care because the ramp can get slippery. This is a potluck so bring a dish to share as well as your own dishes and silverware. Also bring 6 or so images on a CD / USB drive to share with the group.
  • Mike Bell made a motion to change bylaws to judge contemporary like photo journalism. – Carried. Will need to be published before next September.
  • We discussed the problem of people who have no access to the website getting information since no one has stepped up to take over the Groundglass. John offered to print and mail if someone can put it all into a single page for him.
  • Suggestion by Jerry to have people who don’t volunteer to help judge / put on a program / field trip in a club year are only able to submit 1 image per category the next year. Not a motion at this time so no vote.
  • The program was the viewing of the competition results including our first with a contemporary category, which brought many laughs as the judges attempted to critique the abstract photos.
