Judges' comments:
Unusual subject; great focus and detail; blue in background pops the subject; could darken corners and some bright areas
Maker's notes:
This grasshopper paused for me to get within a few inches while I was walking on a cement trail. I used 16 and 10 mm extension tubes with 55-210 lens to get macro detail. I used photoshop express for iPad to bring out some of the color in the insect and the cement.
