This was a very difficult shot done in my home studio (basement). The challenge was to maintain focus, with a very short depth of field. My wife was the subject and required alot of light to show up as a reflection. I used a Canon Speedlight on full power 24 inches from her face to get enough light and that was at ISO 3200 which created noise. Lens was a 90mm Tamron prime macro, 24 inches from my eye. To get good focus I had to use f/20 which gave me a depth of field of about and inch. The photo was heavily cropped because I could not fill the view finder with my eye. Figure I would need at least a 200mm macro to get the shot and detail I really wanted. Exposure time was 1/50th second, camera mounted on a tripod and remote triggered.
