Judges' comments:
Beautiful sky; the dunes have depth; the limited color palette works well; some felt the city lights distracted
Maker's notes:
This image was shot just after sunset at Sand Dunes National Park, Colorado. The camera was set in Manual Mode and pre-focused. Cameral was mounted on a tripod with a Sigma 18-35mm lens set to f/1.8. To keep stars as points and the sky dark a shutter speed of 5 sec. was used at ISO 3200. Lens set to 18mm. There was alot of micro editing to make the sand dunes brighter and the sky darker. I then applied blur filter to smooth the details and make it look for artistic.
