Judges' comments:
Engineer pops out from the darker areas; tells a story; very sharp; much detail in the black
Maker's notes:

This image was shot at night in the roundhouse yard of the Durango and Silverton RR in Durango, Colorado. Zoom lens set to 95mm.  Camera mounted on tripod.  Aperture Priority was set to F/16 to star some bright lights that did not end up in the this cropped version.  Resulting shutter speed was 1 sec at ISO-1600.  Engine was not moving, which made the shoot possible.  Several blurry shots resulted for engineer moving.  Got lucky on this one.  Natural B&W photo as there was minimal color in the scene.
