Judges' comments:
Very nice color and background is blurred; bird's head a little soft; could use more space in front of bird
Maker's notes:
Main challenge was getting close to the bird. Used a 300 mm telephoto but lighting would not let me use a fast shutter speed. This was shot at 1/60 f.5.6 to get the desired depth of field. Several shots were taken to get one in decent focus.
