Fundamentals: None
Main program: Riverside Park photo walk
Our first meeting of the 2020-2021 club year will be a shoot at Riverside Park in La Crosse. The plan is to meet at the entrance to the International Friendship Garden at 6 PM. There is a parking area right next to the entrance. Families may come early and picnic in the park, but there will be no Club Picnic this year due to the pandemic. The sun will be setting at 7:30 that night so it will be chance to get photos of the garden, river, river traffic, sunset and park during the golden hour. Mentors from the leadership team will be available to provide advice on camera settings, composition, shooting macro etc., provided you are wearing a face mask.
Additional note from Sue:
We will have a guest at the shoot on Tuesday evening. Greg Baures is the new photography teacher at Luther High School. He is recording an enrichment lesson for his online photography unit and would like to briefly interview some real photographers. You may decline being interviewed or you can answer a few questions such as:
- How did you decide to become a photographer?
- What is your favorite subject to shoot?
- How do you stay inspired?
The entire segment will be 10-15 minutes in length so no one person's shooting should be significantly interrupted. This is a great opportunity to show students the value of photography as a lifelong pursuit whether as a hobbyist or a professional.
Please welcome Greg!
Thank you-
