I first picked up a camera in 2019, but I wasn't really hooked until three years later when I first tried closeup and macro nature photography. I love exploring the strange and beautiful world of small creatures and plants, and the challenge of photographing subjects in the wild.

Camera: Nikon D3300 (It's an old camera, but its sensor has unusually high photosite density, which is great for macro.)
Lens: Nikon AF-S VR Micro-NIKKOR 105mm f/2.8G
Flash: Nikon SB-500 AF speedlight with a Fotocreate 12" collapsible round softbox diffuser, and hot shoe cord so I can hold the flash over my subject.
Color in the vast majority of my images is calibrated with a white balance card.
