As a child my family traveled and camped through a good part of North America.  Later, in the navy, my ship visited many peoples around the Pacific.  My wife, Beverly, and I visited some wonderful, interesting places too.  Finally, when I retired I spent a month or more each year traveling to places to meet people who live very different lives than we live and different than the modern international person,  these people will probably be gone soon. I loved meeting them and often taking their photograph.  It was my hope to catch them being themselves in the hope that the viewer.of my photo might recognize our common humanity.  Lately I have been less able to travel in challenging destinations so I am trying to meet and photograpph people out of the “main stream” in the USA
