I am back from all my April travels. Had a great time an took a lot of photos. I want to thank Steve M for hosting the April Meetings in my absence. Looking forward to seeing everyone at the meeting tomorrow (Tuesday).
May 13th Meeting
We have a jam-packed meeting with a lot going on for our last Black River Beach meeting of the club year. To start the meeting the Fundamentals presentation will be on Nature Photography with an emphasis on Birds. The presenter will be Ted Narveson a professional whose work is displayed around the Minneapolis area and has been purchased and published by the Dept. of Interior, US Corp of Engineers, United States Forest Service, Minnesota DNR, Ducks Unlimited, and the Audubon Society. Ted is out shooting year-round 5-6 days a week. He will talk about lessons learned and show some of his work.
Following Ted's presentation, we will have an election of officers for next year. The following people have agreed to run. However, if you would like to run for a particular office or would like to nominate someone, please email or talk to Steve or I. The elected positions and candidates are below.

UPCOMING EVENTS
May 27th Meeting. We are working to finalize arrangement for a greenhouse shoot at La Crosse Floral. If that cannot happen we will meet at the Internation Friendship Garden near Riverside Park for the shoot. I will email the club when finalized.
Year End Banquet - Date for the year end Banquet is still TBD, I will notify everyone when final arrangements are made.
Annual Milky Way Shoot. - Its time again for the annual Milky Way Shoot. After several years at the cemetery, we will return to the Brownsville Nature Overlook just south of Brownsville, Minnesota on MN 26. The date for the shoot is Friday, May 23rd. I will be at the overlook by 10:30PM to help people with settings and set up, The Milky Way core will be visible about 11:30 PM. Bring your tripod, camera and wide-angle lens. All setting will be manual, please figure out how to get your camera in manual mode and make adjustments before the shoot. I have a power point on how to set up for and do the shoot.
