Main program: Photo shoot at the St Rose Convent.
Steve Mitoraj has arranged for us to photograph the Mary of Angles Chapel (Maria Angelorum), 701 Franciscan Way, La Crosse. The Chapel is located within The St Rose Convent. We will not have access to the Adoration Chapel, which is also within Convent.
Entrance: Please enter at the 701 Franciscan Way door. This offers an elevator for anyone who needs it. You'll buzz in and the receptionist will let you in. Jane Comeau will be there to greet our group. Try to arrive close to 6:30 if possible.
Please park on the same side of the street as the Chapel. (The North Side of Franciscan Way)
The Chapel was consecrated on Aug. 2, 1906, and serves as the place of prayer for the Franciscan Sisters of Perpetual Adoration. The name "Mary of the Angels" was chosen for the chapel before many of the images of angels were introduced into the plans. According to most counts, over 160 unique angel figures can be found throughout the chapel in paintings, windows and statues. Photo challenges include low light, white balance selection, focus stacking, HDR and macro. Mentors will be available to assist. Tripods and flash will be allowed. There will also be reference material to help identify any of the statues, paintings, or angels.

This is a unique opportunity to gain photo access. It's a great opportunity to learn or practice shooting inside a building.
