Updates from last night’s meeting:
PSA Image Analysis Workshop
La Crosse Camera Area Club has been a “Club Membership” with the Photographic Society of America for 75 years. The Image Analysis Workshop is one of the benefits of having a Club Membership with PSA.
Would like to take advantage of that benefit and offer the workshop to any club member who would be interested. The interactive workshop is offered over Zoom and is limited to 8 participants, but other members can watch.

An interactive session for clubs and councils, helping members learn how to critique and understand images.
- The workshops take anywhere from 2 – 3 hours depending on how much participation there is.
- Workshop is limited to 8 participants from the club.
- The other members can watch, and I encourage them to write their ideas as well when we stop at the various sections.
- If more members would like to participate, I can set up more than one workshop.
Workshop Format:
- The image analysis course is partially a video.
- There are several places where an image comes up and at this point the participants will write their comments about the image according to the instructions.
- We will discuss the comments and then move on.
- The program covers using the personal voice, eye movement, the elements of photography, distractions among other things.
- Each participant will be asked to email an image to Heidi.
- At the end of the program each participant will practice what they learned by analyzing an image from one of the other participants.
Image Submission:
- Images need to be sent to me in .jpg format.
- Save as a large file so the image is not compressed.
- Horizonal images should be 1400 pixels wide and vertical images should be 1050 pixels tall.

“Creative Caption”
At the Tuesday, Nov 26th meeting, will be taking a little time to “Name that Photo”, or as the title suggests, come up with a “Creative Caption” for photos that members submit for this game.
This is a fun exercise, so looking for photos that are entertaining, goofy, difficult to name, or photos that would help members tap into their creativity to come up with fun names. These do not have to be perfect photos, but photos that would be fun to name.
Members watching on Zoom encouraged to participate.
Please e-mail any photos you think would be fun for the members to come up with a Creative Caption (name) for.
Caledonia Balloon Rally Update
The Balloon Rally which was scheduled of the weekend of Nov 15th has been cancelled due to the strong winds. No new dates listed.
