Each monthly competition is judged by a panel of three volunteers from our membership. We prefer to have two A group judges and one B group judge but three A group judges will work in a pinch.
Judging is important not only because our competitions won't work without judges but also because the process of judging is very educational. By going through the work of other club members and thinking critically about the photos to arrive at a score and comments, you gain new insights into photography that you can apply to your own photos.
If you are interested in being a judge, you can volunteer at any of the meetings or contact the judging chair privately. Interested members who have not judged before must observe a judging to see how it all works before jumping in your first time. Let the judging chair know you are interested in observing to be added to the schedule.
